What is Fing Starter
Fing provides basic monitoring capabilities that keep you informed about what’s happening on your network. Whether you’re trying to troubleshoot connection issues or ensure that no unauthorized devices are connected, these features give you the visibility needed to manage your home network with confidence.
Unlimited Network Scans
The Fing app allows you to scan your network without any limitations, ensuring you can always identify connected devices. Whether you have smart home devices, gaming consoles, or work equipment, Fing scans give you the freedom to update your device list whenever you want.
Automated Monitoring with Fing Agent
With the Fing plan, you can also install a Fing Agent on a Raspberry Pi, NAS, or Docker container to automatically monitor your network. The monitoring unit you choose will regularly scan your network, instantly detecting any new devices or changes. This proactive approach ensures you always have a clear view of your network's status, helping you identify issues and potential security threats before they escalate, all without any hassle.

Real-Time Mobile Alerts
Isn’t it convenient to receive notifications when something suspicious happens on your network? Fortunately, the Fing Starter app sends instant alerts to your phone when a new device joins your network or when any suspicious activity is detected. Instead of manually searching for changes, you’ll be alerted immediately so you can take quick action if anything seems out of the ordinary.
Last 7 Days Timeline
If you missed an alert, you can review your network activities over the past week to spot any irregularities. If you suspect unauthorized access or want to analyze patterns, this feature provides valuable insights into what’s happening on your network.
Advanced Network Security in Fing
Fing Starter helps you enhance your home network security by providing tools to detect potential threats and vulnerabilities. These security features ensure your network is protected from unauthorized access and potential cyber risks.
Hidden Camera Detector
When visiting any new place, you can scan the network for any unknown cameras. This feature helps you detect any unknown surveillance devices that could compromise your personal or professional privacy.

Manual and Automatic Router Vulnerability Checks
The first step to securing your network is scanning your router. With Fing Starter, you can identify router vulnerabilities (manually or automatically) and close any open ports.
Performance Insights and Reports
A reliable internet connection is essential for work, entertainment, and communication. Fing Starter includes analytics that help you track and improve your internet speed, providing insights into your network's performance over time, along with reports on user activity.
Automatic Speed Tests
With the Starter subscription, Fing regularly checks your internet speed to ensure you’re getting the service you’re paying for. Instead of conducting tests manually, you can enable up to 6 automatic speed tests daily to detect any slowdowns and easily report issues to your service provider.
Internet Performance Report
Understanding speed fluctuations and connection stability helps you troubleshoot issues and optimize your settings for greater reliability. Therefore, the Starter plan includes a detailed analysis of your network performance trends over time, sent directly to your email.
Digital Presence Report
Learn how your devices interact with the internet, enhancing your understanding of your home online activity. This feature provides deeper insights into internet usage trends, ensuring all your connected devices are functioning as expected.
Why You Should Choose Fing Starter
Fing Starter is the perfect solution if you’re looking for an affordable and effective way to monitor and secure your home network. Whether you’re monitoring internet speed, searching for hidden cameras, or tracking network activities, Fing Starter provides the essential tools to protect your network. With its combination of automated scanning, security checks, and performance analytics, Fing Starter is the ideal choice for users who want to easily manage their home network.

Sign in with Apple on Fing
Apple's iOS 13 was launched in 2019. You can sign in to your Fing account using "Sign in with Apple," utilizing Touch ID and Face ID, and use dark mode directly from your phone settings. The Fing app will also request location permissions to continue reading the Wi-Fi network name (SSID) and address (BSSID).
When using "Sign in with Apple," you can use Face ID or Touch ID on your device (or username and password in the web app) to create or merge with an existing account. You can choose whether you want to share the following with us:
- Your real name (or change it during the "registration" stage)
- Your real email for Masked Relay email, which is a masked email that Apple will receive and forward to the end user

Connecting Fing App and Fing Desktop
Step 1: Create a Fing Account
The first thing you’ll need is a Fing account. The account is not mandatory if you’re only using the Fing app, but it is essential for running Fing Desktop and, of course, for pairing the two apps. Your Fing account will sync all your network information across all devices it runs on. It’s crucial to keep everything updated with the correct information.
Creating a Fing account is free and easy, taking just a few minutes. You can sign up through the "Account" tab in the Fing app, following the instructions in the registration section. Once you log into the mobile app, you’ll be ready to move on to the next step.
Step 2: Get Fing Desktop
You’re now ready to download Fing Desktop! If you’re reading this from your mobile phone, open your laptop and go to get.fing.com to download Fing Desktop for Windows or macOS. Once Fing Desktop is downloaded, log in using your Fing account and get ready for the final step.

Step 3: Pair Fing App with Fing Desktop
You’re almost done! Open the mobile app. It will immediately sync with the desktop app, and the Fing desktop network will appear at the top of the home page.
If that doesn’t happen, you can manually select the desktop network to show up in your phone’s main control panel. Click on the three-line icon on the home page to view a list of all networks in your account. Look for the Fing desktop network in the "Monitored Network" section, then swipe it (on iOS) or long-press it (on Android) to view additional actions. Click on the "Home" icon to pin this network to the main tab.
If words aren’t enough, let the images speak. Watch our quick explanation and learn how to connect the Fing app to Fing Desktop in under two minutes.
