Review of the Dell XPS 13 2020 (Model XPS 9300)

Another year, another XPS 13. This time, Dell hasn't completely redesigned its flagship ultrabook—perhaps they still need to compare the 2020 model with last year's to identify the differences—but it has made some significant adjustments.

All of these changes are positive, featuring a 16:10 aspect ratio, an edge-to-edge keyboard, and more compact and energy-efficient 10nm Intel processors that keep it thinner than before.

Unfortunately, many of the classic XPS 13 flaws remain, including limited ports and a tendency to run quite hot. This is still one of the best laptops in the world, but Dell needs to put in more effort to stay ahead of the competition next time.

Review of the Dell XPS 13 OLED (Model XPS 9310)

Dell has been pushing boundaries for years now with the XPS 13, XPS 15, and XPS 17. These were the first laptops to feature the InfinityEdge display with tiny bezels, setting a trend among all premium laptops. For 2020, Dell redesigned the XPS 13 (9300), now mirroring its convertible sibling, the XPS 13 2-in-1 (7390), one of our top-rated laptops to date. Dell is known for not making radical changes to its laptops for years, but in mid-2021, the company added a few options for the new XPS 13 buyers. The new Intel Core i7-1185G7 is slightly faster, alongside the older i7-1165G7 that we reviewed in October 2020. But the most exciting addition is the new Samsung OLED 3.5K (3456 x 2160) display (Full HD and IPS 3.5K are still available). However, with OLED come trade-offs, including battery performance. Nevertheless, the XPS 13 (9310) is currently the best 13-inch laptop on the market and a contender for the best Dell laptop you can buy. With its stunning design, excellent display options, improved keyboard, and particularly superior performance, it has no shortcomings. In fact, the new 11th Gen Intel chips make it significantly better than before.

Review of the Dell XPS 13 Plus (Model XPS 9320 2022, with OLED) Summary: I've enjoyed my time with the XPS 13 Plus so far. It's not just a sturdy design with excellent build quality and a beautiful look, but it also features a comfortable keyboard and an easy-to-use, invisible touchpad. And let's not forget the stunning OLED display. All of this comes at a reasonable price. However, it's not perfect. I wasn't too fond of the capacitive touch bar, for instance, and I wasn't a fan of the battery life and limited input/output options. We delve into all these aspects.
