But while the slightly improved graphics—which include native 4K support and enhanced frame rates—are great, they aren't the real reason to play The Last of Us Part II Remastered. It's all the other features that make this special edition so excellent.

Some of the additions are relatively minor. There's a guitar mode where you can play as much as you like. Using the PlayStation controller's touchpad to scroll guitar strings was one of the highlights of the original, and it's great to be able to play it freely. I'm sure we'll see some awesome videos of people playing rock music soon. You can also unlock outfits to wear while playing the main game, which is silly but fun. I spent 10 hours on the New Game Plus tour, and Ellie wore a Death Stranding shirt the whole time (even though that game wasn't in the TLOU timeline).
Since this is my second time playing the game, I've thoroughly enjoyed tweaking the gameplay to make it less tedious this time around. This means unlocking things like unlimited ammo, one-hit kills, and—my personal favorite—time slowdown while aiming. This helps me relive the story without any frustration. (For those who go the other way and are looking for a bit more of a challenge, there's also the permanent death option and a sprint mode where you can track your best times in the story race at top speed.)
